Eating Healthy Is Needed For School

How many times have you not eaten and felt horrible? Many who don't eat, especially breakfast, have headaches throughout the day, and just can't function. Now, how about your kids? You see, proper and healthy eating at home can make the difference in your child’s behavior during the school day. If they have good nutrition at home it will give them the energy they need to get through the day, and give their brain what it needs to think. In other words, if they don't eat, they are being done a great dis-service.

Let's go into this deeper. Children that don’t eat a healthy breakfast can be too tired during the school day. It is difficult to learn when you can’t stay awake. Morning time can be a big rush out the door, but it is important to take the time for breakfast. If families find this difficult, then it might be that they have to get up earlier and not stay up so late the night before.

How about a fast breakfast choice that is healthy? It's easier than one might think. Some families usually cook a hot breakfast on the weekends and Monday mornings. Some make extra pancake batter for waffles or pancakes and freeze the cooked item. You lay out each pancake or waffle flat on a cookie sheet until they are frozen and then toss them in a freezer baggie. They keep their shape because they are frozen and the kids can pop them in the toaster for breakfast. There are other ideas you can come up with to make breakfast easier.

What if you're really in hurry one morning, and your family is running around like mice. Well, it’s still easy to provide a nutritious breakfast. Many kids usually fix cereal before the parents get up in the morning. If this happens in your home as well, supplement the cereal with some orange juice or other fruit drink. Add toast with jam or try some slices of fresh fruit with their cereal.

There are many products on the market that make breakfast fast and simple. You could even get breakfast bars because they provide many nutrients that are needed for healthy bodies. Adding milk or juice can give an extra boost. Make sure whatever you fix for a healthy breakfast will fill your child up until lunch and will give them the energy they need.

And, speaking of lunch, make sure that your child is either brown-bagging it, or has money for lunch. Nothing like going to a lunch table with the rest of the kids and having nothing to eat. It's embarassing and it could make for a hungry kid.
